About UsThank you for your interest in the East Coweta High School Basketball Cheer Program. The Basketball Cheer teams consist of the Varsity (V) and Junior Varsity (JV) teams. The role of each team member regardless of the respective team is to serve as a spirit leader and an ambassador of the school. Team members are involved in helping to promote a positive image of East Coweta High School as well as be leaders in the community and surrounding areas. The teams will consists of ECHS students ranging from grades 9th – 12th. The purpose of the Basketball Cheer teams is to foster appropriate behavior while improving academic performance in all students. Through this program, student athletes learn citizenship, community, commitment, endurance, and teamwork. |

ExpectationsWhat can you do to become a part of the ECHS Basketball Cheer teams? We are looking for student athletes who are dedicated to supporting and representing our school. Before deciding to tryout, please consider the time commitment that these activities will require from you, the physical requirements of cheering, and the monetary cost of being a part of the team.

CommitmentPre-season workouts/team building begin 5/2, 5/9, 5/16. Mandatory Kiddie Camp, 8am - 11am & Precision Clinic, 12pm - 3pm on 6/5, 6/6, 6/7. Wednesday morning summer workouts begin June 13th. Mandatory Summer Camp 7/9-7/13 (6am-3pm). School Ambassadors 8/1-8/3 8-3pm. Three per week practices beginning 2nd week of school through the end of basketball season. Practices will increase to every day in October. The season begins in November. Dance competition for Varsity in March/April.

Tryout InfoIf you decide that you are what we are looking for—athletic, dedicated, team-oriented, focused, and responsible then we welcome you to tryouts 4/16-4/20. The completed application packet and teacher evaluations must be turned in NO later than April 12th (No Exceptions). A completed application packet includes the following:
